1Assignment

Who's inspecting, and for which file.

2Vehicle description

Enter the VIN and tap Decode. Confirm everything against the vehicle itself.

VIN tips
Read it from the lower driver-side windshield plate and the driver door jamb label, and make sure they match. Letters I, O and Q are never used. A mismatch, a damaged plate, or a sticker that looks replaced goes in your notes.
Finding the trim
Check the trunk or tailgate badge, the window sticker if available, and equipment (wheels, seats, sunroof, nav). The VIN decode often leaves trim blank or general, so don't rely on it alone. Trim changes value and parts pricing.
Paint code
Usually on the driver door jamb label (look for "PNT", "C/TR" or "EXT"). On some makes it's under the hood or in the trunk. Write the code too, because it matters for blending and refinish. Note tri-coat or pearl finishes.
Why options matter
Options drive value and repair cost. ADAS sensors in bumpers, mirrors, and the windshield usually need calibration after a repair, so always note them. Aftermarket parts and modifications need their own photos.
Documenting prior damage
Note it by panel and side (LF, RF, LR, RR), with type (dent, scratch, rust, crack) and rough size. Photograph each area separately and label it "prior / unrelated". Rust, old repairs, mismatched paint, and wide panel gaps are all signs of prior damage. Being clear here prevents disputes on the supplement.

3Loss details

Tap every area that was hit. The orange area is the point of impact.

FRONT
No area selected yet.
Airbags and interior
Check the dash, steering wheel, seats, curtains (headliner), and knee bolsters. Note the SRS light. Deployed airbags and seatbelt pretensioners change the estimate a lot, and can push a vehicle toward a total loss.
Describing damage
Start at the point of impact and work outward. Note the direction of force, whether damage crosses into structural parts (rails, aprons, pillars), and any signs of hidden damage: uneven panel gaps, buckled metal, misaligned doors or hood, fluid leaks, or wheel alignment problems.

4Photo sequence

Shoot in order. Tap a box to take or choose a photo. Orange tags are required.

5Send report

Builds a PDF with the vehicle description and every photo, then opens your email or share menu.

Before you send
Double-check the VIN against the photo, the odometer reading, and that every required shot is sharp, with no glare and no fingers in frame. Most rejected files are missing a VIN, odometer, or four-corner shot.

Private Photos and info stay on this device until you send them. Form fields are saved on this phone, but photos are not, so send the report before closing.
